deck and chairs crop

Days are getting longer, and the clocks are set ahead. This can only mean one thing, summer and launch season is soon approaching!

Believe it our not, boating season is right around the corner! If you would like a dock for this year, and have not yet returned your dockage package, please send it in at your earliest convenience. You can view current pricing and download a worksheet from here: 2016 Slip Pricing

Don’t wait until the last minute to schedule your work with our repair shop. Our schedule is filling up quickly. If you would like work done on your boat, please contact Kevin at 315-493-9102 or kevin@katlynnmarine.com.

As we do every spring, let us remind you to expect extremes in the weather from here on out. One minute it’s 85 degrees and the next it’s raining so hard it will drown a bullfrog with gale force winds. Please double check to see that your dock lines are adequate in both size and number.

Once you have prepared your boat for launch, please call or email the marina office and we will add you to our launch list. The office can also handle any special requests that you need. There is no need to talk to Kevin, who is busy launching boats.

Requirements to launch your boat are as follows:

  1. Please provide a key or combination to your boat to the marina.
  2. The engine must operate, and the batteries must be charged.
  3. All hull plugs must be installed and through hull hoses connected.
  4. The bimini frame must be down. If the bimini goes through the back stay please indicate which tubes are forward and which are aft of the backstay.
  5. On board, in a visible place, please provide:
    • Dock lines
    • Fenders
    • Spreaders
    • Spreader boots
    • Tiller or wheel
  6. Masthead flys and instruments.
  7. All outstanding balances must be paid in full.

Once you have completed the requirements, and finished all of your prelaunch work, notify the marina office and we will get the boat on the launch list to Splash!
